So I just got back from California tonight. I left on Wednesday morning to go to the AEM facility in Hawthorne California to work on something...
They had a new series 2 EMS installed in a second gen eclipse and strapped to the dyno. We went through the setup process and got the car running. I have to say, big thumbs up to the AEM guys. They have put a lot of hard work into developing this new software, and I'm pleased with the outcome. We took a 30-6060 box(OBD2A Civic/Integra) box back to EFI University and installed it into our Civic. Scott Borg (Electrical Engineer for AEM) and I went over a few things before the install to make sure everything was spot on. The car started on the first try with the base map they provided. We set the idle and then strapped it down to the dyno to play with the new system even more. We focused on a little steady state tuning and then made a few power pulls with the EMS installed and then did some back to back testing with the factory ECU. Over all, factory ecu targeted about 13.2-13.4:1 AFR and made about 88 HP to the wheels. First, we were able to make the car safer by dialing in a very flat 12.8:1 AFR and we picked up about 8 HP on this bone stock Honda. All you guys on the fence about the AEM EMS, just check out this new system because it's very nice and easy to use. I had a great time and really recommend this system. AEM has 2 versions of the series 2 box available with many more in beta testing right now. J30 swapped Civics ... AEM will have a plug and play unit for this swap before the end of the year. Just letting you know in advance. -------------------- - Cartune Performance - EFI University Instructor Race Wiring Standalone Engine Management Systems Setup Consultation Dyno Tuning Performed on 2WD Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno 817 437 1698 www.cartuneperformance.com |

get it from spanish he giving me a great price Spanish has a job, buy it from ME! Just kidding... But these boxes are seriously affordable in the grand scheme of things. Hell, AEM is even thinking about giving a large discount if you send in an old box and purchase a new one. I'd check their site for such deals, but I was standing in the room where the bigwigs were talking about this. . . just saying. OH yea, The Honda OBD2a and I believe the OBD1 units are now available for purchase. If anyone wants to see one in action, come by the shop for a demonstration. I'll gladly toss you a peak just to knock you off the fence! -------------------- - Cartune Performance - EFI University Instructor Race Wiring Standalone Engine Management Systems Setup Consultation Dyno Tuning Performed on 2WD Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno 817 437 1698 www.cartuneperformance.com |

Just an update on AEM Series 2.
I have just taught the first, second, and third AEMTuner class in California and Vegas. If you are interested in learning how to use AEMTuner, let me know and I can keep you updated on the classes. The AEM crew has got the ball rolling on developing the new boxes, so expect the popular plug and play EMS's to hitting the streets at a fast pace. FYI: The first gen DSM Series 2 box is already available for purchase as well as the Honda S2000. I was told that the K-series unit may be available in a few months. -------------------- - Cartune Performance - EFI University Instructor Race Wiring Standalone Engine Management Systems Setup Consultation Dyno Tuning Performed on 2WD Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno 817 437 1698 www.cartuneperformance.com |

What about Series 2 for a 2JZ-GTE? Pricing? Runt Yes, Supra boxes are also available. List from AEM is $2,111.10 and I can offer a little discount on the price. You plan on using one for the Lexus? -------------------- - Cartune Performance - EFI University Instructor Race Wiring Standalone Engine Management Systems Setup Consultation Dyno Tuning Performed on 2WD Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno 817 437 1698 www.cartuneperformance.com |

After doing some readging I might end up spending the extra coin and stepping up to it. However picking up an older box for almost 1000$ less is tempting.
