I was being retarded/lazy and as I was putting in a new wireless pci adapter in I left all the plugs in (psu included) and fired up my computer after. Ever since then I haven't been able to receive any sound. My drivers look to be fine, there are no errors and there's a display for the sound. If I turn it all the way up there's a faint, constant static sound with no crackle. My speakers/headset work just fine and I have tested it on other computers. The computer itself was recently built less than a month ago. I was just wondering if it was possible just to burn out the onboard sound card itself? I figure with an 8 channel HD audio I wouldn't need a sound card. The drivers are also up to date. Thanks.
