is that a greenhouse behind your desk?

-jd

ha, no, those are conference rooms - in the center of the office, glass on both sides. Any time anyone gets pulled aside, everyone the company can see it all.

Damn. Your desk must be half of the office floor space in that building.

You need a 12v power source and 120mm fans. I'd recommend running the 120's at 7V though as they're quite loud at the full 12. Or use a rheostat.

Or just buy something designed for that purpose: http://www.frozencpu...et_Cooling.html

My office, pretty bare bones since we're moving to a new building next month. I will be out of an office and back to cube life

RIP keeping the door shut so nobody bothers me.

The number one reason I avoid our new super snazzy office space. Only HR has offices with doors. Everyone else lives in a big open cube space, and they're the stupid short wall cubes that don't even provide enough privacy for a phone call.

Not that that stops the partner account managers that sit all around me from gabbing it up all day long at volumes that make it impossible for me to think.

Yeah. Eff cube life. Working from the home office FTW.

When I first started at the company I had a cube, it was the worst location right next to the office printer, noise canceling headphones didn't do the trick sadly. Agreed to home office life, I take some days from time to time to work out of my place.

"I'm into my second week now and walking at a pretty slow, casual pace, about 1.4 miles an hour," Neighmond writes. "When I first started, I thought I'd simply hop on the treadmill and be off walking all day while working. But it turns out it's really hard to walk, talk, think and concentrate."

No it isn't. I've been doing 1.7 - 2.0mph (which for me is about like strolling through the park or something) and have been at least as productive if not more than I was before. But then some people walk into open man-holes while texting ...

I'm digging it though. I'm putting in anywhere between 6 and 12 miles a day and I'm not running it all day long.

(Don't make fun ... I've been sitting on my butt 8-12 hours/day for the last 15 years. Walking this much is an adjustment :))

Mine is powered off the computer power supply - the speed varies with heat. I found the quietest rated fan I could find. The bigger the fan, the quieter, in my experience, since they can turn slower to move the same air.

It's still there but lately work has required me to be somewhere else, and now I'm on vacation until next year. I'm sure it'll see some use over the next few weeks though. And yeah, I have to be sure I'm all the way awake before I try to type fast and walk first thing in the morning or my legs kind of do their own thing :D

The wife is wanting to get on a regular bodyweight workout schedule and says she won't stay motivated to do it without me doing it with her. So, I guess I'll be doing that too.
