Does anyone here mess with them?

I started with a hs401-v2 midsized drone with 8mm motors, altitude hold, and wifi fpv. I thought it was really cool until i pushed it out of range and it left. Then i tried a full manual micro syma x11 with 7mm motors which was ok. Then i found the hubsan line. Then picked up a refurb phantom 3 standard. Then stepped in to the race world with a ummagawd vortex 250 pro. I also picked up a volar 360 nano and eachine tiny whoop knock off.

The hs401-v2 flew away when i went too high on altitude. I had a hubsan 107d+ drop in the pond when i was too aggresive with it and hit the disarm. The phantom 3 flew away on my second flight...no right stick commands received, return to home fail, random yaw...i am still fighting with tech support on it. I flew the tiny volar 360 too high and the wind took it. I just got a h502s and put it in the pond but powered up and got return to home to work so it's gutted and drying out.

My favorite hooligan one is a 30 dollar hubsan h107l. I have no idea why they put 8mm motors in it but it is sick fast. And it actually has tune-able rates in the controller. I'm upgrading to dark side motors and trying 380 mah battries but they are 3 grams heavier than stock. I'm sure i'll end up with a carbon fiber frame and cheap fpv setup on it soon.

I also have the eachine 010 tiny whoop knock off. It really is the most awesome indoor racer. Plus its only 20 bucks. I have some 615 7mm motors that i haven't gotten around to installing yet.

While i have the hubsan h502s torn down i'm thinking about motors and gutting the stock fpv setup. The hubsan fpv board is 5.8 ghz which is cool but the latecy sucks and the camera is too narrow, plus it really would be better with the camera aimed down. There is a wide lens available but you can pick up a standalone eachine fpv setup for 30 dollars. I'll probably stick the eachine fpv in there for goggle use, upgrade the motors, and hang a second battery. I will say the osd does have altitude, ground speed, horizontal distance, and gps coordinates. That's cool for 130 bucks.

I picked up another volar 360 because it is such a good flyer and the drone actually is stored in the radio.

I really liked the phantom during the short time i had it but i should have gotten a professional because the range on the standard sucks. I really should have gotten a mavic but don't we all want one.....1500 bucks is too much.

I have not flown the vortex yet. It was hell learning how to install the flight controller and setting up the taranus radio because i have no idea what i am doing. I did make an attempt to fly it yesterday but i snapped the props before i got it off the ground. The sound of the 5 inch props with 20a running through 2206 motors is scary. I covered my nuts and backed up ten feet due to the sound of death.

Anyone want to talk shop or meetup to break some shit?

If you have ever cussed a transmission in you apartment garage, changed an axle at the track just to drive home, or oiled down a Mexican highway... https://www.kickstar...iant-robot-duel

Fucking do it.
