This is the error I've gotten a few times.

Using Google Chrome to view.

We're experiencing unexpected downtime due to a faulty disk.

The site will be dodgy until the RAID subsystem has finished rebiulding the array.

We'll be back to 100% as soon as possible.

FFS ... The site tells me why it's slow, but why is it slow?

To be fair though - that message needs changing. The array is rebuilt, but there are other issues that I haven't had the time to address just yet.

Not what this is about, this site has been slow as hell lately.  Am I not supposed to ask?

I didn't complain or bitch, I simply asked.

Do you understand how storage works? In a RAID configuration (assuming you know what RAID is) when a disk fails, it has to be replaced and then it has to rebuild the data to a new disk. So while the system is reconstructing the data, that takes precedent (data retention is always the highest priority) so all other services take a performance hit.

The other part is Sam stated that there are other variables that he needs to address as soon as he has the time, this could be an issue with system resources or other hardware issues that are impacting performance.

Wait...don't you work in some level of tech support?

Basically they will get fixed on Sam & Runt's schedules, as you don't pay the DI bill you have no room to bitch.

Cliff Notes: Shit will get fixed when it gets fixed.

Again I didn't bitch.  I asked a question, and provided the error I was running into for info to whoever might want/need it.

Just as slow in Firefox, FYI.  Haven't gotten the error again tho.

You guys really should relax.  Sam answered the question just fine by himself, there wasn't a need for any other replies.

And he didn't get all pussy hurt about it.
